I am open to treats!
Fandoms requested: (Click to jump to place in letter)
Genshin Impact (Video Game) | Persona 5 | Spirited Away (2001) [SAFETY] | Yuri!!! on Ice (Anime) [SAFETY] | From Up on Poppy Hill (2011) (Safety) | The Deer King (2021)Dear Heart Attack author, Heloooo! Welcome to my letter! I hope you enjoy your stay. I'm absolutely thrilled to have you write something for me! I'm usually not too picky (evidenced by my looong likes list) and I believe so long as you enjoy writing your fic, I will enjoy reading it. So, please have fun! I can't wait to see what you make!
- Canon divergence and post-canon
- First-timer paired with an experienced partner (extra points if the experienced one is very soft/doting)
Genshin Impact
Requesting:
- Albedo/Scaramouche (Genshin Impact)
- Scaramouche/Xiao | Alatus (Genshin Impact)
- Albedo/Tighnari (Genshin Impact)
- Albedo & Tighnari (Genshin Impact)
- Kaedehara Kazuha/Shikanoin Heizou (Genshin Impact)
- Kaedehara Kazuha's Friend/Niwa Hisahide (Genshin Impact)
- Kaedehara Kazuha/Tighnari (Genshin Impact)
I really, really, like a lot of genshin characters. One of my favorite things about Genshin is the number of different ways different characters could end up interacting with each other. What are some of their shared interests? How could one show his world to the other and develop a relationship that way, whether it be Avidya Forest, Dragonspine, the Alcor, even a modern setting!
The thing I'm most interested in seeing a fic is really just the way the two characters find similar interests and talk about them! Or maybe they find out they have a friend in common (Like Traveler), which brings their bond closer together.
What I like most about each ship:
- Albedo/Scaramouche: Two artificial beings that are foils to each other. The one is worried about being a huge threat to his homeland (Albedo in Mondstadt) and one WAS that threat (Scara)
- Scaramouche/Xiao: Two old beings who have had their share of traumas and guilt about their actions and how they led to them being who they are today
- Albedo/Tighnari and Albedo & Tighnari: Both nerds who love sciences to do with life!! They can read reserach documents together and explore their respective motherlands!!
- Kazuha/Tighnari: Similar thinking to the one above, but two people who love nature a lot! They could go on trips out into nature together and share thoughts about the trip and their super sense/hearing
- Kazuha/Heiozu: These two are so cute together and I swear they feel like a glove that fits perfectly on a hand. Heizou, feeling that he can't turn to anyone with his problems, finds Kazuha is willing to listen. And Kazuha, with his own traumas, likes spending time with him because he gets it!!
- Kazuha's Friend (Tomo)/Niwa: I don't think anyone has done this one before but I think it would be really interesting! Both of them have connections to Kazuha. Maybe it's a little weird for Tomo to date his best friend's great grandpa as a ghost or something, but they both would get along great as two laid-back fellows.
Persona 5
Requesting:
- Akechi Goro/Kurusu Akira (Persona 5)
- Akechi Goro & None (Persona 5)
- Kitagawa Yusuke/Kurusu Akira (Persona 5)
Don't even talk to me until I've had my Akechi Goro!!! I LOVE THIS DUDE!!! When you talk to him and hear that "Rank Up!!" sound and return to the game only for him to say, "I hate you"— I was DYING!! Achievement unlocked, Akechi hates you. The extra material we got in Persona Royal solidified a lot of people's love for him, but I already adored him plenty before that. I always love a character who is a little pathetic-coded, and when he ate the "bad" takoyaki, I thought, "Yes, this is the character for me." He has that glorious balance of stupid shit happening to him but also his own serious motives for his actions in the game.
What are your thoughts on the Akechi we see in Persona Royal, the one in his "black mask"? Why do I have a feeling every attempt to get close to him to lavish him with overdue affection would result in him beating the shit out of me? I think he deserves some more comfort in his life, but also to not be so high-strung. His throat must hurt after all the screaming about how much he hates everyone!!
I was watching a playthrough of Persona 5 where the streamer refused to spend time with Yusuke but I love him and his beautiful face. I think his quirks are part of what make him so wonderful and, as a fellow artist, I can empathize with some of his struggles. I would love to see him getting chances to spend more time with the other characters (and maybe growing closer to a particular Akira too?) He deserves a lot more affection than he's given!
Some ideas:
- What is Akechi like on a case that ISN'T the Phantom Thieves? After the events of the game, what does he do with his time? What was he doing with it before? Does he like his life as it is, or does he want it to be completely different?
- How does Hero/Akira show affection? Is he outright about his feelings or oblivious if he isn't the one to start crushing on the other person first? If he were offered chocolates or a date by another guy, how would he react?
- Similarly, if Akira's pursuing someone, how does he plan to show his affection? Does he play things cool and slow or want to outright confess to the other person? Do they believe him? And if they don't, what's his new game plan?
Spirited Away [SAFETY]
Requesting:
- Haku | Nigihayami Kohakunushi/Ogino Chihiro (Spirited Away 2001)
I am kind of obsessed over Haku and I'm not even going to be ashamed. He's beautiful, kind, gentle, thoughtful, strong, has a strong sense of morals, has leadership experience ("Master Haku" gets me every time 😳). And Chihiro grew a ton in her own right throughout the movie. She went from this meek, rude, stubborn girl to someone who's not afraid to get down and dirty, take risks, and stand up to the things that fear her. I love that Haku played such a part in helping her find that courage. (The scene of him patting her shoulder while she cried over a rice ball comes to mind).
This fandom feels like the pefect sort for time-travel fun, either into the future or into when they first met. Everyone is always asking what it would be like if they met again in the future. How will Chihiro have changed again? What would she be like when she's older? But I'm also curious how long I personally would be able to keep my back turned on a place like that after Haku told her to stay away. And yet, he DID say they would meet again in the future...
Some ideas:
- What does their reunion look like? How have things changed? Is Haku's river gone forever or is there a chance a part of it still exists?
- What led Haku to get where he was in the movie? How did he feel when he saw Chihiro for the first time? What about how he felt when she left?
- Retell the movie from Haku's POV. How Down Bad is he for Chihiro when she gets older? How did he feel when he met her in the movie?
- How would their relationship be established in a different AU? Do they still have the same gentle understanding of each other?
Yuri!!! on Ice
Requesting:
- Kasuki Yuuri/Yuri Plisetsky (Yuri!!! on Ice)
(Link to that one crazy Yuri Plisetsky "Welcome to the Madness" Video that is essentially required watching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25K3-DoEBIk)
I'm not even going to be apologetic about this one. I am DOWN BAD with no ladder to climb out of the hole I've found myself in. Yurio is a BEAST on the ice and he deserves ALL the medals!! He's beautiful, says what he thinks, pushes his limits, etc., etc.
I loved the beginning of the anime a ton because I got to see Yurio and Yuuri interacting. I love seeing how the two balance each other out. Yurio screams and shouts when Yuuri would rather slump around in his sadness, but they're still there to lift each other up. They also share these same insecurities of not doing well enough and having to meet high expectations.
An idea or two:
- A competition doesn't go to well. Cue the comfort time. (Extra points if someone got injured or the loss was abysmal.)
- Friends to lovers where one is pining hard for the other, so much so that just watching him skate on the ice makes his face heat up. How is gonna deal with these emotions? Does the other notice? (Or maybe a coach?)
- What are the Yuris like in a domestic setting? What are they like on the ice together? What about in an AU where skating isn't involved at all? What's one way they would meet then and get close?
From Up on Poppy Hill (Safety)
Requesting:
- Matsuzaki Umi & None (Poppy Hill)
- Matsuzaki Sora/Mizunuma Shirou (Poppy Hill)
- Kazama Shun/Matsuzaki Umi (Poppy Hill)
Why is it that every time I watch this movie, I wish I could crawl into the TV screen? Whenever I hear the music, I feel compelled to write a 100k+ longfic of just. Ghibli vibes. I love the characters, I love the plot, I love how it was only until my third or fourth rewatch that Umi's casual-toned admission of how her father died really hit me. There's something to be said of "We are a product of what happens to us" and I love that Umi is such a strong and confident female protagonist despite the sadness that simmers just in the shadow of this whole story with her father's death.
I would love to see more post-canon exploration into the character's relationships with each other and with themselves now knowing what they know. There was no kissing with Umi and Shun at the end of the movie, which I suppose is understandable, but let there be physical affection!!!
And for the Sora and Shirou ship: Are you kidding me?? So cute?? The way that he looks after her and always has that happy look in his eyes whenever they spend time together... it melts me every time! I also really love that Sora isn't shy or super overwhelmed with him. She can be herself! I would love to see more of their interactions and how their relationship developed.
Some ideas:
- Imagine the characters in a different setting, maybe a different ghibli movie. Sci-fi. High fantasy. More modern, where Tokyo isn't (as) choked out by smoke. How are the characters different? How are they the same?
- What are Umi's interests? What does a typical day in her life look like? We know from the movie that she wants to be doctor (or something to that effect, iirc). Why? How is she achieving those dreams?
- Give me a fic flooding with Japanese culture. Kimono, bentos, after-school clubs in the practice building, shrines, national holidays... I love all of that!!
- Umi returns to raising the flags each morning, and she's still getting responses back. Only, the message has changed...
The Deer King
Requesting:
- Hohsalle Yuguraul/Van Gansa (The Deer King 2021)
- Hohsalle Yuguraul & None (The Deer King 2021)
I need, need, NEED more Hohsalle content in my life. He is the most beautiful, most intelligent mans I have seen in a while, and he has captured my whole heart. I love the little glimpses we get to see into his humorous, snarky side. He’s authoritative, too, which doesn’t hurt! I was really hoping he would have an opportunity to connect with Van more, so those interactions are very welcome.
I learned that the author (who wrote the book the movie is based off) is a professor of ethnology (study of everyday people). After rewatching the movie again, I noticed that influence more, particularly in the difference between Aquafaese and Zolian cultures. I think the imperialist/war side of the plot is interesting, but hard personally for me to write well. The relationship between Aquafa and Zol is so bloodied, but who doesn’t love political intrigue?!
Gotta be honest that I liked the ending, but I was wanting more! Van told Hohsalle he wanted to see Yuna grew up, but then put himself in a position where he couldn’t. (Not easily, anyway.) Canon divergence at any point is welcome. Give them a better ending!
Another thing I hadn’t considered until a rewatch is the countries’ reliances on medicine versus Gods to heal their ailments, and how the mittsual is considered a “curse” vs a “disease.” There’s this divide between magic/divinity and irl medicine that I wish had been explored more. I was particularly peeved that Hohsalle never seemed that interested in Van’s spiritual journey or relationship with ossam. The biggest thing we get is this line: “I've seen so many die because of the mittsual. Inside of this man, I wonder what face it's chosen to wear now.” But I don’t feel like he really followed through with discovering an answer.
Anyway, witnessing Hohsalle work and discover new things about how the world or mittsual work would be fun, or even him developing his relationship with Yuna, Van, etc. I especially enjoy moments where he’s a little pathetic, like the fight with the stilt-walkers where he got shoved in the mud a lot. It’s fun to see the duality of his more composed self then him fighting for his life out in the wild.
