The Promised Neverland (Manga)
Dear fffx-er,
Hello! This is my first time officially signing up for this exchange. I’m really excited to see what you create and I hope you find something that grabs your interest.
My letters tend to run long, which I suppose is the point, but I hope I at least made it a little easier to navigate with the jump links and everything.
**Non-traditional formats like research papers/analysis/essays, epistolary fic, interviews, documentaries, etc. are welcome. The main thing that will draw me into your story are the characters and prose. I love literary devices like metaphors, symbolism, or imagery. The little details in a fic sell me the most. In non-traditional pieces, that could mean attaching photos, graphs, fancy scripts or footnotes, anything that you want to add. (I’m a slut for a good work skin!)
At the end of the day, if you enjoyed what you wrote, that is what matters most to me. I truly feel that when a person enjoys what they’re writing, it shines through in their fic. I have a lot of ideas of what I will like and I’m pretty easy to please.

Dragon Quest XI
Requesting: Erik/Luminary, Erik/Sylvando, Mia & Veronica, Luminary & Jade
General likes: Oh man, what DON’T I love about this video game? It is my main obsession and I find a chance to write for it whenever I can. I love the found family aspect and the simplistic order of its plot, which makes it easy pickings for canon-divergent or role swap AUs. I particularly have gotten into time-travel things lately, particularly anything to do with timeloops and all the different ways you can have one character travel back in time and affect the course of history.
Ideas for time-traveling nonsense:
— Eleven shatters the Sphere of Time, but when he goes back, finds that his other self still exists. How does he manage to save the world? Is the team confused or doubt his legitimacy as the Hero given there’s two of him?
— Someone other than Eleven shatters the Sphere of Time. How does that change the course of events? How does this other character manage to prevent destruction of the world/Yggdrasil?
— Eleven shatters the Sphere but is sent to a different point in time. Is there still enough time to save the world? How far back (or forward) has he gone?
— Really anything to do with time travel not functioning the way it did in canon is good enough for me. I like to see all the ways it could have failed or presented more challenges to the heroes versus the seamless process we got in the game.
Erik/Luminary: The tried, the true, luminerik. I have not come across an iteration of this ship that I don’t love. I like it modern, I like it slow burned, I like it post-canon and canon divergent. I like a luminary who’s mute, shy, overdramatic, a leader, etc, etc. And there’s no variety of Erik who isn’t just the most amazing character to me. I like meet-cutes and established relationships, and I’m always a sucker for fics where they live happily ever after together in Cobblestone or Dundrasil. However, I also really like when they’re taken out of Erdrea and placed in a completely modern AU given there’s so many variable ways for these two to fall in love over and over.
Erik/Sylvando: Hear me out: It’s a friend’s OTP, and they have absolutely turned me onto it. They’re both athletic, have tough outer shells and soft hearts, and could have a lot of fun together. I like the friends to lovers trope, especially with two characters whose pasts are shrouded in mystery and take some time to warm up and trust one another.
Mia & Veronica: Give me an adventure between just these two! No more Erik cramping their style! They can cause mischief, light things on fire, and anguish over their shared distate of being younger than they actually are. I think it would be fun if they went on a dual journey to reverse Veronica’s age curse (and maybe Mia’s curse too, if there is such a way for her to regain all those years she lost). I just really like their dynamic together.
Luminary & Jade: I feel like a lot of party members don’t get enough of the spotlight in fics, especially Jade. She has her moments in the game, like when she saved El from that tumble into a river after confronting Hendirk, but I think the devs really did her dirty (re: Booga). She deserves more screen time, and I especially love her role as a sisterly figure to Eleven, which isn’t touched upon nearly enough in fic. They never get moments just to each other, you know? Even though they’re both fighters, royalty, and have soft spots for cute puppies.
Hades (Video Game)
Requesting: Hypnos & Zagreus, Thanatos/Zagreus, Char: Thanatos, Char: Zagreus, Artemis & Zagreus
General likes: I absolutely love Zag’s personality and I have been thoroughly charmed by him. But my favorite character is absolutely Hypnos. He’s so sweet and disarmingly oblivious compared to the others living in the Underworld. It’s refreshing! When everyone else is grim and frowny, Hypnos is there to gleefully tell you how you’ve been murdered.
Exploring Greece: There’s some characters, like Than, who said they prefer the Underworld over all the hustle and bustle above. And I’m curious to see what Hades’s impressions are if he got to spend more time up there. What would he think of one-headed dogs? Or other animals, like cats or bears or donkeys?
Artemis & Zagreus: Despite the low likelihood of it actually happening, I would love to see what these two would be like together. The other Gods aren’t Artemis’s favorite, and she seems to like Zag, from what she knows of him. And he respects her in turn. It would be fun to see them fight together, or even learn from each other different things. Particularly with Artemis, I think Zag could teach her a thing or two about appreciating the people you find annoying sometimes.
Hypnos & Zagreus: Hypnos is a guy trying his best with a hard crowd. I always appreciate that Zag’s there to tell him he’s doing a good job, or thank him (even sarcastically sometimes) for Hypnos’s good “tips.” If ever the two of them could get out of Hades’s house, I think they could get into a lot of trouble and have fun together! Hypnos could try napping somewhere new, or give his brother Charon a visit!
Thanatos/Zagreus: I love their dynamic together and I want to see them break more beds. I think it’d be neat if Zag got to explore more of Greece, and we got to see how Than feels about that. Maybe Than runs into him one time while he’s up there, or finds trails of his footprints in the grass or something.This is where I gush about the game.
OMORI (Video Game)
Requesting: Char: Sunny, Aubrey & Basil & Hero & Kel & Mari & Sunny, Aubrey & Basil & Hero & Kel & Sunny, Aubrey/Kel, Kel/Sunny, Mari & Sunny
Favorite moment: Near the end of the game, when Kel, Hero, Aubrey, and Sunny go to visit Mari’s grave. It really highlighted for me how each of these characters deals with grief and trauma in their own way. Even I miss Mari so much just from how Omori interacts with her in Headspace and I know that was intentional to make it hurt worse that we never get to meet her for real.
General likes: The tension strung throughout the game and how we spent all this time carefully unraveling Sunny’s life while still spending so much time away from it in Headspace! When Sunny first opened that door and spoke to Kel after four years, it left so much unsaid, so much mystery about what had transpired between everybody.
My favorite aspect of the game is definitely the way you learn information a little at a time but you never really feel like you have it all figured out until the end. That twist was *chef’s kiss* but it completely shattered my heart! I loved, too, how you can tell everybody really cares and loves each other, even after all the time that has passed.
The endings: I still can’t believe the good ending cuts off after “I have to tell you something.” What happens next? What about Basil? Does Omori still move away? There’s so much untapped potential to explore specific characters’ feelings and responses to the news. To piece together whatever they have left and attempt to build something new together, or not, depending on the person. (Who doesn’t love a fic with some good angst, right?) I just feel that there could have been more closure for the player beyond such an abrupt ending. I would have at least liked to see Sunny and Basil together again.
Character studies and trauma: I would adore a good hurt/comfort fic or even epistolary fic exploring any of the character’s perspectives of the past four years, even including or following after in-game events. Each of them has their own struggles, fears, and coping mechanisms. And I think it would be interesting to see how each character’s weakness and strengths changed over time.
— Kel: How must he have felt when Sunny finally opened that door again? How much did he miss Sunny, or anyone else for that matter? How did he feel when Sunny told him he was moving away in only a few days? Did he feel betrayed, or just resigned?
— Sunny: What does the rest of Sunny’s road to recovery look like? Does he have conversations with his other friends about it? If so, what do those look like? Does he want to move, stay, or has he become too apathetic to care?
— Hero: Was he in a relationship with Mari before she died? Has he ever really gotten over her death? Was avoiding her grave his way of grieving the loss, and trying to block it out by distracting himself with other activities? How does it feel to be the eldest suffering with the grief?
— Aubrey: Did she ever feel lonely when the others closed themselves off after Mari’s death? Is she really friends with the Hooligans or were they her coping mechanism? Is there any way for her to let down her walls a little and smile again, like she used to?
— Basil: I once saw a comment on Youtube that said, “‘Everything is going to be okay’ is both Basil's coping phrase and Sunny's trigger phrase” and I think that’s so true. It’s Basil’s attempt to tell themselves everything is going to get better when neither of them really believe it. What’s going to happen to him now that he’s been saved? Is it possible that Aubrey and Kel and the others could help him get back on his feet again.
— Kel/Aubrey: One of my favorite ship dynamics is “soft ray of sunshine and cinnamon roll that could actually kill you.” Kel and Aubrey give off that energy of kids who tease each other because they actually love each other a lot, and I feel like there’s a chance for more to develop there once they meet back up four years later. They can start fresh and establish something else, IF Aubrey were to let down her walls for once!
— Kel/Sunny: I am obsessed with Kel’s cheery attitude and I think it’s so cute when Kel and Sunny are journeying through Faraway Town together after four years apart. I think it would be cute, too, if Sunny told Kel more about Headspace and Kel reacted with amazement at how cool dream-him is. That’s with the caveat that Sunny doesn’t find the experience too painful, but I overall would enjoy seeing Sunny talk through his trauma with someone who cares about him a lot.
Novelization: Going to be honest, I would ADORE a little fleshing-out of all the photographs we see in the game, even though we kind of already got that. I think it would be fun to explore in more depth some of those moments everyone experienced together, from whatever perspective you want. Maybe even sprinkle in some flash-forwarded scenes of how all the characters’ lives are now that more time has passed. I love myself a story that’s a bunch of fragmented scenes layered together, just like the photo album.
Starlight Brigade
Requesting: Strive (Starlight Brigade)/Original Character(s), Starlight Brigade Team & Strive, Strive & Strive's Father
General likes: Altogether, Strive’s universe is an amazing mixture of sci-fi and fantasy elements and I’m really curious to see how those blend together. I love how the song has one cohesive plot but leaves enough for more stories to emerge from that. You can expand upon the (fandom-named, I think) world of Moebius or resort to more intergalactic adventures with the rest of the Starlight Brigade.
Alien anatomy: What makes Strive and the other Moebian's bodies different from humans? What do those gemstones in the center do?
— NSFW: What kind of equipment does Strive have? Is it the same old human stuff or is there something more alien about it, such as him being intersex, having a higher/lower sex drive, being able to have multiple orgasms/having a short recovery period, etc.? Do these organ(s) self-lubricate, menstruate, or give off a scent?
Culture/Geography/Biology of Moebians:
— Culture: What do they eat? Do they have any seasonal traditions or customs? (Me being me, what about courting rituals?) What are Strive’s people’s beliefs/faith, if they have any? Any social nuances that could land you in hot water if you say the wrong thing or make the wrong gesture?
— Geography: How large is this planet? Does it rain? Is it more of a tundra situation, or are there grasslands/forests in other places? What’s the population of Strive’s hometown and are they the only people on this planet, or do they have trade routes with other groups? Does tourism exist?
— Biology: They bleed purple blood, as evidenced by Strive’s one injury. What’s up with that? Why are their ears so floof? Why is their skin blue, with some characters having two-toned skin (two shades of blue, one lighter)? Do they age like humans, or do they have a Yoda situation where it takes a long time to age?
— Misc.: How did these people survive on this desolate land? Maybe some creative thinking was at play there. What other races are there in the universe? Is there sunlight here or only the aurora borealis-eqsue lights?
Hookup and dating culture: Does not have to be Strive and an OC. You could also write research-like notes or observations about the culture. (But answers to the following questions by showing some shipping is ofc encouraged.)
— What do you call your partner in their universe?
— What is their culture’s idea of a perfect date?
— Is this culture monogamous, polyamorous, or something else/a mix?
— How do you flirt with someone from Strive’s planet? What’s considered a cute compliment?
Also overlaps somewhat with alien anatomy.
I want to know how someone would not only woo this blue alien, but make love to him, too. We don’t really know Strive’s gender outside of him using he/him pronouns, so who’s not to say there’s a colony of androgynous or nonbinary aliens living their best lives?
Magic: It looks like a lot of people have gemstones in their chests. Is it some sort of custom to get one then, as we saw Strive do as a child? Are these gemstones somehow connected to the fading light that was recovered?
Stray
Requesting: Momo & Orange Cat, Clementine & Orange Cat, Momo & Zbaltazar & Doc & Clementine, B-12 & Orange Cat
General likes: I loved the concept of this game, particularly that humans created the underground city with the intention of living down there themselves and the Companions ended up continuing humankind’s legacy. There’s something charming, too, about the robots and all of their personalities.
Worldbuilding: At the end of the game, once light has finally returned, how does that change the underground city? What is it like at night, when you can see the stars? Do any of the Companions decide to travel outside and see what the world is like out there? I always loved the detail about plants being grown underground without the need for natural light. Are there any more details like that that the robots use to their advantage? Now that the underground city is open, is wildlife going to get in? Perhaps more robots (or even HUMANS) will find the place and it’ll develop into something even more. I think it would be fun to explore the idea of reclaiming the areas that were once infested with Zurks and creating new neighborhoods out of it.
I was also extremely curious throughout this whole thing whether the Orange Cat is really just a cat or a more intelligent creature than we give them credit for. Maybe B-12 was speaking Cat or maybe our furry friend is smarter than we first gave them credit for. I think it would be fun if, for in-game reasoning, Orange Cat is actually hyper-intelligent and that’s why they were able to get so much shit done, but the Companions don’t really acknowledge that because they’re robots who don’t have much of a clue what cats are supposed to be like anyway.
The Outsiders: I think it would be awesome to get a fic exploring Momo and the crew’s first attempt escaping to the outside. What were some of the hardships? Successes? What finally made some of the characters give up and establish roots somewhere else? At the end, now that the Orange Cat has finally managed to escape, is this a chance for all of the Outsiders to meet together once more and go on their own adventure?
The Promised Neverland (Manga)
Requesting: Emma/Ray, Emma & Norman & Ray, Emma/Norman/Ray
General likes: Oh my god these kids. I have fallen head-over-heels for the plot of this manga, particularly because I enjoy seeing the children problem-solve and get out of tough situations. I also love Emma’s compassion, and the love she shows toward her family. When Norman rolled out his plan to annihilate the demons, I was so happy to hear her speak out against it with Norman and even more excited when they agreed that they didn’t like Norman’s idea.
Emma/Ray: This has… a fair amount to do with me thinking Ray was this mysterious figure at the beginning of the story and me growing to love him by the end. I think it’s supremely sweet how he follows Emma’s lead and supports her every step of the way. He’s supremely reliable and intelligent. Willing to go the extra mile for someone he cares about, just as Emma is, and I’m always close to disappointment if they’re not together. (Must not separate!) I’d love a fic exploring their relationship more, either along the journey of the story or exploring Emma grappling with a new future post-canon.
Emma & Norman & Ray: I would have loved to see more of these three spending time together once they were reunited and realized Norman hadn’t been killed. So much has transpired, and some things have changed, but they’re still besties at heart. There’s only a few panels where Norman actually looks his age, considering he ends up taking on the role of Minerva. I wonder, too, how you could replicate their dynamic in different ways if placed in an AU.
Emma/Norman/Ray: I love myself a good throuple, particularly when they all love each other so much like these three do. It would be wonderful to explore post-canon what their relationship would be like, or even in an AU. How do these three even fall into that sort of relationship? Does someone propose it, or does it happen naturally? Is everything sunshine and rainbows, or are there some bumps in the road, too?
